HOLIDAY CAMP FAQS
-
We have two day camps each year – one during our July camp and one on the week leading up to Christmas.
If you would like your child to attend for the days only during a regular week of camp, you will need to provide transport as there is no specified programme.
Please contact us if your child will not be staying for the entire week!
-
Fees must be paid in full at least two weeks before camp begins. We can’t confirm the booking until full payment is received. If you’re applying to WINZ for an OSCAR subsidy, then a deposit must be paid at time of registration to confirm the booking. Contact our office if you’re unsure of how much to pay.
-
These are the payment options that are available when registering a child for camp:
• Credit card on registration
• Internet banking
• Weekly prepaid (e.g. $25 a week). Contact the office to arrange weekly payments.
-
See our Gear List to know what you need to bring to camp and what is not allowed at camp.

Bridge Valley caters for common dietaries requirements, but due to the nature of our programme we cannot guarantee no cross contamination. If your child has complex dietary requirements, it is best to contact us to see what we can do. Please see our dietary statement to find out more.

Yes. When you are registering you child, there are spaces for you to add up to 2 cabin mates. If they are at camp, we will do our best to put them together.

We do our best to make camp a place for everyone to join in on the fun, but at times we are restricted due to leaders’ ratios and supervision requirements, so it depends on the child’s needs. If any child needs one-on-one supervision, we are unable to provide that. The best thing is to contact us with as many details as possible about what your child requires.
-
Yes! We have LIT Camps (Leader in Training) during every Junior Holiday Camp for ages 14-16. This is a camp for those wanting to step up and learn leadership skills in a camp environment. See our leaders page to find out more.
We also have one-off camps for youth every now and then.
-
We try to have as many exciting activities as possible for each age group. Juniors will generally do activities such as rock climbing, kayaking, archery, air rifles, burma trail, etc. Ultimate campers do extreme activities like high ropes, laser tag, luge, abseiling, and more! These activities can change each camp, but you can contact us close to a specific camp to find out what activities we are doing.
-
Our campers sleep in a cabin of 6-8 campers, with leaders putting them to bed and sleeping in cabins nearby that they can go to throughout the night for emergencies. Cabins have 8 beds and a bathroom in each room, and Pukeko Lodge has 5-8 beds in each room with a shared lodge bathroom.

Yes, Bridge Valley is a Christian camp. Our staff are Christian and we have sessions of life skills and inspirational Bible-based teachings. Campers and leaders in training do not need to be Christian or go to church to attend and enjoy camp!
This page will soon be updated to include FAQ’s around school groups and activities. For the meantime, please look at our activities and packages pages on the website, and contact us with any further questions.
